Our Historical Products

We always brought our best to the table!

Founded by Tony and Mary Cericola in 1959, we worked closely with our customers to develop a comprehensive product selection that included wholesome products.

We were always excited to bring new lines of products to the table, meeting exact customer requirements while upholding our uncompromising standards of quality from our farms and federally inspected facilities.

All chicken was raised and processed in accordance with Chicken Farmers of Canada’s on-farm food safety and assurance program and Animal Welfare program.

As a local Ontario family farm, we had the flexibility - and the passion - to raise and process virtually any type of poultry, including:

Halal Chicken Products

Cericola Farms operated hand-slaughtered halal facilities in Ontario & Quebec, providing certified halal products that met all established guidelines.

Cericola Farms was among the first to raise 100% AABF chicken, implementing a comprehensive program aligned with Canadian Food Inspection Agency label claims of grain-fed and raised without antibiotics or animal by-products.

Our Historical Legacy

Cericola Farms, founded in 1959 by Tony and Mary Cericola, left an indelible mark on the Canadian poultry industry. Here are some key milestones from our history:

  • 1959: Tony and Mary Cericola established Cericola Farms in Bradford, Ontario.
  • 1990s: Pioneered Organic chicken processing with national retailers.
  • Early 2000s: Introduced Antibiotic Free (AABF) chicken, setting industry standards.
  • 2018-2021: Operations sold to Maple Leaf Foods, marking the end of an era.
