We are pleased to announce the sale of two Cericola Farms plants based in Bradford, Ontario and Drummondville, Quebec to Maple Leaf Foods. Cericola Farms will continue to operate its primary operation in Schomberg, Ontario for three years.
From our humble beginnings in 1959, to the organization we have become today, our teams have all worked together to promote our family values. These are the same values that the McCain family has demonstrated in their ownership and operation of Maple Leaf Foods.
“Cericola is a leader in raised without antibiotics and organic chicken. This acquisition will build Maple Leaf’s market leadership in these value-added categories and enable us to meet growing consumer demand,” said Michael McCain, President and CEO.
Founder of Cericola Farms - Mary Cericola said "Our vision over the past 60 years has been to provide wholesome and natural poultry products to our customers. It is this tradition of excellence that aligns Maple Leaf and Cericola."
We are confident that Tony & Mary Cericola's vision of providing families with the most wholesome and natural products will be continued through Maple Leaf's efforts. We believe that the sale at this time will secure the future for our employees and the company for generations to come.
This is an exciting time of growth for the business and all of our collective families as well.
We cannot thank our dedicated employees and loyal customers enough for their numerous contributions to the operation and growth of our business. Our management staff will work closely with the Maple Leaf team to ensure a seamless transition for all.
